Description

Coffee Pot with Cake by Theodore Major

An original still-life featuring a coffee pot, cake and fruit. Expressive brushstrokes and simplified forms lend the composition a sense of solidity, while the intimate domestic setting gives the work a quiet, contemplative character. The painting exemplifies Major’s distinctive approach to transforming everyday objects through bold colour, texture and an individual vision.
