Original oil on board painting Lawrence Isherwood painted in homage to artist Matthew Smith.

Occasionally Isherwood would take inspiration from other leading artists from art history and completed works in the style of the likes of Claude Monet, Derain and L S Lowry to name a few.  In this composition, Isherwood tackles the work of Matthew Smith depicting a French scene of Mont Saint Victoire.

The work is signed by Isherwood with the words ‘After Matthew Smith’ to the front and comes from the estate of his late partner Pat White.
