Beach Nudes by James Lawrence Isherwood
This 1968 original oil on board painting by Isherwood is a testament to the artist wonderful eye for colour. In a period where many northern school artists were following Lowry with subdued colour palettes, Isherwood was breaking the mould with his vibrant tones and vivid oils.
From the collection of Isherwood’s late partner in the second half of the 1970s, Pat White. This painting is signed by the artist.
