Description

Still Life by Geoffrey Key Original Painting

A striking and large still life composition by Salford artist Geoffrey Key.  The painting features a Bellarmine Jar (also known as a Bartmann jug) which is a type of salt-glazed stoneware vessel that was popular in Europe—especially in Germany and the Low Countries—during the 16th and 17th centuries.  These vessels feature a bearded face mask on the neck or shoulder, often grotesque or comical and amazingly this painting is accompanied by the Jar featured in the painting.

Signed “G Key 13” in the top right, this piece is offered in the artist’s choice of frame and complete with the artist’s database number to the reverse of the canvas.

Available to view at the gallery now while it is still available, do contact the gallery for further details should this painting be of interest.
