Capturing the industrial north with a touch of humour and modernity in the way on Turner could, this composition depcicts the canals at Castlefield, Manchester.  Titled to the reverse, the painting also bears its original Turner stock number to the reverse along with a label from the former Gateway Gallery in Hale, Cheshire.
