Description

The Pond by L S Lowry Signed Limited Edition Print

Signed limited edition L S Lowry print entitled The Pond.

A very detailed landscape which Lowry considered to be his most successful industrial painting, the original of which is in the collection at Tate Britain. Within the detail in the middle distance is Stockport Viaduct, a structure Lowry stated  ‘fascinates me; dominates my imagination…into the composite pieces’. The industrial revolution is a story we tell about progress: Lowry’s work reveals another side, it’s tedious and psychological strain on both people and environment.
