Homeless by Blek le Rat
An incredibly rare hand signed silkscreen limited edition print by French stencil artist Blek le Rat. Published in Paris in 2022, this wonderful and poignant limited edition is typical of Blek le Rat who regularly chooses subject matter that draws attention to social injustices such as homelessness and the plight of refugees. In this composition we see the typical rat so prominent in his early work which inspired his name, alongside the dog and a likeness of the artist himself.
Having been named by Banksy as a major influence, it is clear in this stencil work how deeply his work has influenced the movement. ‘Every time I think I have painted something slightly original, I find out that Blek le Rat has done it as well only twenty years earlier’ – Banksy.
Thie piece is numbered from just 60 examples and hand signed by Blek le Rat in pencil on the print and also on the certificate.
